This workshop highlights and explores how narrative and storytelling can be used in a range of ways, including community development, research, evaluation and therapy.
SUMMARY OF WORKSHOP:
Katrice Horsley will use the experience of her work in prisons, with street gangs and with the socially excluded to offer a range of techniques that she has found to be successful in enabling all people to find a voice.
This workshop will not look at performance skills but will focus instead on the uses of narrative and story.
What to expect:
Participants will be fully engaged using a range of embedding techniques and exercises that they can then use in their settings and work environments.
Learning:
- Hands-on learning of effective ways of engaging people in storytelling, story-making and story-sharing, irrespective of literacy ability of your participants.
- A hand-out will be electronically sent on request.
