School holiday fun for the family! Listen to the Korean story of kimchi and create your hand-made story book to take home with you!
Kimchi is one of the Korea’s representative food which is becoming more popular around the world nowadays. In addition, in December 2013 the Korean traditions of making and sharing kimchi were included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Participants can learn the kimchi recipe and the philosophy of kimchi-making through The Kimchi Story created by Seung Ah Kim.
Book-making with handmade Korean paper, hanji, will be a very special experience and a memorable souvenir even though participants don’t get to visit Korea.
Book-making materials, and special hanji paper, will be provided by the organiser and is inclusive in the ticket price.
All children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the workshop.
This workshop is supported by Shinpoong Hanji.
