Preparation It would be ideal if the participant attends with a personal story or anecdote to share.

At this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the skills required to shape personal memories into tellable stories. In groups, they will get a chance to test a few of their own simple stories. They will also reflect on its value in connecting and recording different contemporary cultures as well as its use in education.

Highlights:

Participants can expect to share anecdotes and memories and explore interesting ways in which to connect and weave the different strands together to bring their stories to life.

Learning:

Participants can expect to leave with some stories and an understanding of how to shape stories for more effective telling. They will have greater understanding of how storytelling within the family and community can communicate culture, personal and societal values.
