Tan Joo Hymn (Singapore)

Joo Hymn is an active volunteer in civil service groups and past-president of AWARE (Association of Women for Action and Research) and SAFE (Supporting, AFfirming and Empowering our LGBTQ friends and family).Joo Hymn’s initial interest in storytelling was spurred by her training in early childhood education. As she came to understand the power of storytelling as an effective advocacy tool, Joo Hymn began choosing and crafting stories for performance for an adult audience. Through storytelling, she presents difficult issues in a style that invites further thought and dialogue regarding the issue at hand.
