PUBLIC TALK
How Asia Will Become the World’s Hotspot for Cultural Creativity by Nury Vittachi
5 Sept 08, 7.00pm to 8.00pm @ The Arts House
Admission is free
The west’s stranglehold on fiction-based entertainment is loosening and a generation of creative Asians is waiting in the wings. "Most eastern countries are no longer colonies of western countries," Nury told a reporter in 2005. "But the west still has a stranglehold on the entertainment industry — the biggest books, films and music groups. It's time we fought for independence."
