Denise Atchley: Defining Digital Storytelling
James Bonnet : Nurturing and Optimizing the Craft of Storytelling: Exchanging Perspectives with the Singapore Flim Community

27 August 07, 7.00pm to 8.00pm
Defining Digital Storytelling by Denise Atchley

Digital Storytelling is about creating a personal digital story that is not purely an acquisition of facts, but learning how to make the facts alive – a journey of personal expression. Every individual, every home, every community, why, for that matter every corporate entity has a story to tell; except that 1) these stories lie buried, incoherent or mute, in photos, albums, documents, presentations, video-clips and speeches, 2) everyone may not have the skills or the talent to "tell" a gripping story and 3) everyone hasn't had the benefit of training or even the experience to write a script and then productionize the material into a succinct yet captivating story. But all that is now set to change with Digital Storytelling. Denise Atchley, the Co-Founder and Director of The Digital Storytelling Festival™ in the U.S., will deliver an interesting talk on this new and exciting concept - discussing the roots of the movement and showing examples of digital storytelling work and explanation of various uses of digital storytelling (business, education, personal, etc.).

28 August 07, 5.00pm to 6.00pm
Nurturing and Optimizing the Craft of Storytelling: Exchanging Perspectives with the Singapore Flim Community by James Bonnet
